Back Pain

When you are suffering from back pain you realise just how debilitating it can be. It’s very easy to become frustrated, agitated and annoyed because you can't do the things you want to. Whether it’s a small ache, or you can hardly stand up straight. Give us a call and we will make sure you get the care that you need so you can start to feel great.

Back pain can be caused by such a large variety of reasons, from the more obvious muscle spasms or muscle strains (tears) and sprains to herniated and prolapsed discs to the more serious and less thought about causes like vascular problems, bone tumors, bone diseases and many many other chronic or pathologic conditions. These can cause quite severe back pain and be lethal too. Our culture  is to ignore it, or put it off, we think “she will be fine mate”. If it is serious this is not wise.

Lucklily most of the time it's not severe and it's not life threatening.

Saying that – when you have back pain – if it is painful enough – all you want is for it to go, and as quickly as possible.

I have worked with hundreds of people who have had back pain, of one type or another. And the one thing they all have in common is that it's not so much the pain that is the problem – but what the back pain is causing or stopping them from being able to do. A mother who can no longer pick up her kids, or an avid golfer can’t play a whole round of golf or even get out on the course or a  gardener who can’t kneel or bend down. Or maybe even a businessman who can’t concentrate throughout the days important meetings. – So what is your pain stopping you from doing. How is it already interfering with your life.

We want it fixed right now! And the sooner the better. We may take some pain killers, to end the pain. If that works we feel lucky – that is if it holds, or commonly for most people, the pain sticks around or gradually gets worse. Until we take some type of action that involves seeking help from a practitioner.

This is where I come in.

I love helping people who are in pain, because of how much better their lives become when the pain is resolved.
Not everyone responds to every type of treatment. Most people who have surgery for example end up no better off a few years later (do some research for yourself – you might be shocked). Yet for some it could be the best option. I would always suggest this be the very very last option. Same with chiropractic, osteopathy, physiotherapy. Most people spend their time saying why one is better or worse, I can’t really be bothered with this because I see it as we all have a place and can all help people.

I have had people walk into my office all hunched over barely able to walk because they are in so much pain and a few minutes later they walk out of my office thinking I am a miracle worker; they are pain free walking tall and not quite sure of what just happened, but hugging me because of what just happened. Now this is not the usual, normally it takes a bit longer, taking anywhere from a few sessions to months if the condition is very chronic. But to that person a miracle happened.
I have also had people who were not responding so well and I knew the way that I worked was not a fit for them and I referred them to someone who seemed more appropriate early on so they did not waste their time or money and more importantly got an improvement. 99% of the time I will pick this up before we even have our first session. It is for this reason that I offer a private 20 minute FREE consultation.  So we can determine if your pain is likely to respond well to care before you commit to any treatment program.

My goal is to help you feel great – and the sooner the better.
